Green Crystal Technologies is a global company concentrating on bringing clean water and purifications systems, green energy alternatives and efficient housing projects to not only raise the quality of life for individuals but to save lives immediately.  Children are dieing everyday by the thousands from water-borne diseases all over the world.  Our equipment and technologies can be erected quickly and begin saving lives within hours.

Harnessing solar energy, turning waste into energy and building green communities is all part of Green Crystal’s focus and momentum.

Housed out of Luxembourg, Green Crystal Technologies has established an R&D constituency that includes Purdue University, Harvard, Yale, Technion Institute, Cornell University, Luxembourg University and others which are committed to developing ongoing green energy alternatives to meet and exceed our ever expanding global demands.

Our projects are pandemic, spanning the four corners of the earth.  A Presidential permit has already been granted in Sri Lanka and work is underway to install water purification and cleaning systems, to build over 100,000 new homes, erect wind farms and other energy alternatives and to enlarge and connect to their existing power grid without traumatizing the existing infrastructure or the residents of Sri Lanka.

Other active project locations include Guatemala, Texas, Poland and Israel.

Green Crystal is making a durable difference in our world with its products and services and with its unshakable commitment to integrity and excellence.  Over 75 years of combined experience leads Green Crystal Technologies and untold years of experience with its affiliates, partners and Board Members.  That forms a powerful league and high voltage synergy that will undertake and execute difficult projects that others may never risk.  It is not business as usual at GCT, but leaving a legacy of a better world for future generations to enjoy has become a motivating factor in all we do.

Kenneth T. Hern
Board Advisor

General Background

Retired from Texaco Inc. in 1994 after twenty five (25) years of service.  Since that time I have traveled extensively and managed the family enterprises and serve on several boards.  I served on councils for the election of George W. Bush in his 2000 election and remain close to several of his reelection committees.

Beginning in 2003, in consort with a few colleagues, I participated in a group that purchased 70 percent of a British biomass to energy company which included the rights to build a 55 megawatt plant in Benson, Minnesota.  The group, Homeland Renewable Energy, successfully raised $210 million for this plant, Fibrominn, which is expected to go on stream in 2006.  My colleagues and I are very pleased to have participated in this project and see it as the first of many that will contribute positively to reducing the massive run-off of animal wastes into our streams and rivers.

As a graduate student I did considerable research on cancer prevention chemicals and had the good fortune to work on a Parke Davis cancer research grant while in graduate school.  I have also had the misfortune of having had bladder cancer but fortunately, following a successful removal of the tumor, I traveled to Germany where I took the WF-10 treatment and am delighted to report that to date there has been no recurrence of the tumor.

Foreign Assignments

BRAZIL
I worked for Texaco in Brazil from 1989 until 1994.  As President of Texaco Brazil, I interacted with all government agencies of Brazil including the Office of the President.  It was my pleasure to be included in the delegation that met with former President George Bush during his visit to Brazil.  Later, I would be included in the Brazilian delegation that attended the ceremony for the signing of the Latin American Trade Agreement at the White House Rose Garden.

As President of Texaco Brazil, I participated in Brazil’s negotiating meetings dealing with import/export of crude oil and products.

I also advised the Brazilian Government on the advantages and disadvantages of using ethanol as a motor fuel and on other energy matters.

Texaco Brazil was Texaco’s second largest International Operation and sales were increased from $2 billion in 1989 to $3 billion in 1994 and earnings were increased from $50 million in 1989 to $200 million in 1994.

NIGERIA

From 1984 through early 1989, I served as Vice Chairman & Managing Director of Texaco Nigeria Limited.  During that time I met and worked with the Nigerian Administrations of General Muhammadu Buhari and General Ibrahim Babangida.

I have met Nigeria’s current President, General Obasanjo, and have served as an advisor to his staff.

I was a friend of President Elect, Chief M. K. O. Abiola.  Mrs. Hern and I were his guests at the wedding of his daughter, Lola, to a son of Chief Ediwar.  General Babangida placed Chief Abiola under house arrest and Chief Abiola would die before his election could be legitimized.

During my tenure in Nigeria, I met weekly with various government officials.  Primarily I, and the other oil sector executives, met with the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) regarding export and refining of Nigerian crude oil, disposition of Natural Gas and Refined Products and negotiations of Memorandums of Understanding relative to exploration and production of crude oil.

One of my proudest accomplishments was the development of an agricultural program to convert large amounts of cassava to gari, the local starch.  Before I left the country I arranged to sell the operation to local investors and am even more proud to report that the operation is still functioning.

SAUDI ARABIA

I served as President of Texaco Saudia Inc. from 1981-1984 and acted as Texaco’s Government liaison officer working with Sheik Ahmed Zaki Yamani, Saudi Arabia’s most famous Oil Minister.  I also interacted with all other segments of the Saudi Government and continue to have close contacts with several Saudi Government Officials.

My tenure in Saudi Arabia was coincidental with one of the world’s major oil crisis brought about by the dramatic uplift in oil prices for Arabian light crude.  These were difficult times for international oil companies, the Saudi Government and our Government.  The crisis did provide an opportunity for many of us in the oil sector to learn more about the Saudi objectives and motives.

GENERAL INFORMATION

For general information I was nominated as a candidate to serve as the United States Ambassador to Saudi Arabia.  I was also nominated to serve as the Ambassador to Nigeria, which I respectfully declined.  I would have served as the Ambassador Saudi Arabia but because of family and business reasons it became impossible for me to pursue this posting.

I have many friends there and have worked with some of them to draft  a “Marshall Plan” whereby the Saudi’s could participate in the Middle East peace process with specific emphasis on the festering Palestinian situation.  I continue to liaise with various government officials on Middle East policy and serve as an advisor to various Middle Eastern organizations and remain hopeful of realizing peace in the Middle East in my life time.
